What happened at Basie! in 2004

Thank you for making my first year posting here at Basie! a real success. I could not do this without you the readers. I greatly appreciate your patronage and am very thankful for every new reader you pass along to my blog.

Here are the reader stats for the first six months I've been tracking them, July 1-December 31:

Total visits: 35,727 (194 per day)
Unique visits: 25,632 (139 per day)

Hopefully we'll crack 50,000 in the not too distant future.

Upon my return, I'll try to make a list of the best pieces and interviews on the site -- a sort of "Best of Basie!" -- but it will probably have to wait until my return to Portland.

Otherwise, there's a lot to look forward to in the next year at Basie!, including more interviews with important political actors (I'm working on lining up a few more with former Presidential candidates), more analytical rants and more day-to-day reporting.

If there's anything you can think of that would make this site better (aside from the obvious need to change the design, which doesn't work on Safari browsers) please either make a comment on this post or email me (I'll reply as promptly as possible).

Thank you so much again for coming to Basie! Although I spend a lot of time working on this blog for my own amusement, I know I couldn't do it without all of you.
